Hapkido for children 8-12

Our philosophy:

That your child will graduate from the International Hapkido Federation with the confidence to
shift into their adult life of college and the workplace. That they should not just
know how to successfully defend themselves but, they should have become a
leader and productive part of society. Our program allows full Black Belt
certification upon completion of all time/grade requirements at the age of 16 years old.

So parents, rest easy as your kids go through life because along with all these great leadership skills
our children's program instills a natural ability of how to avoid and if necessary survive dangerous situations.
They will learn and know that physical size does not matter when it comes to defending themself if needed.
Children learn self-defense for protection against abduction and bullying as well as learning to protect other children.

Many activities such as camps, sleepovers, picnics, and movie nights give kids a healthy safe social outlet.
A large emphasis is also placed on academics to help develop the whole person, not just in the Martial arts.
Leadership skills and drills are a lifelong gift you can give to your child.
Physical benefits include balance, coordination, and endurance.
Mental benefits include confidence, self esteem, and courage.

The goals of our program include:

Increased Focus and Concentration

Children learn useful skills such as discipline, respect, self-confidence, and self-esteem.
Our Hapkido program is designed to help develop concentration and focus so students
can stay on task longer and achieve more for their whole life.

Gain Self-Confidence

Be proud and happy of who you are! Be yourself! The confidence gained through our youth Martial arts program
helps foster a strong positive self-image. The self-confidence gained in leadership that martial arts training can give
your child the boost they need to say no to drugs, stand up to bullying, and other negative peer pressures.
Increase Respect for Others Hapkido leadership training emphasizes respect for others at all times. This includes friends, family,
school teachers and of course fellow martial artists. Although your child may be as young as 8 years old our
instructors and staff model that respect is earned by action and not by age.

Improve Health and Fitness

TV and video games are a source of entertainment for kids, but if your child spends too much time with them then
Hapkido is a fantastic solution. The activities in our youth classes are sure to keep your child fit, happy, and healthy.

Develop Social Skills

Adulthood Social skills like; good manners, eye contact, and public speaking, are developed in each lesson.
As your child advances through the ranks, there are even more opportunities with the "Leadership Team"
or the "Demonstration Team." to further advance your child's social propensity.

Develop Leadership

Students who attend the International Hapkido Federation are a step up on others. Our students get to practice
important leadership and life skills to develop them to their full potential. Confidence, teamwork, and public speaking
are just some of the leadership and life skills we practice. These leadership skills will encourage successful traits
that will pay off for the rest of their lives.

Excitement and Fun

You too will be excited as your child's enthusiasm for life, self-growth, and their maturity blooms in a productive and
healthy way in our exciting and positive atmosphere. Class curriculum and structure are built to capture the full
attention of any child. Watch your child's attention span grow through exciting activities and challenges!

Competition Can Destroy Self Worth

We are NOT a competition/tournament school so you don’t need to buy extra training equipment like sparring gear or extra pads, etc.
There are no trophies or medals to give a false sense of security.
Just pure exciting martial arts training that will teach your child
respect, self confidence, self discipline, manners/etiquette, and integrity.

We believe that competitions/tournaments can negatively programs children into a "winner/loser" mentality.
We are all winners when we do our very best at all we are trying to achieve.
Learning to improve yourself by conquering your own fears/obstacles is a much healthier way to think.
We always say, “Never compare your self to others!”

Class Schedules

Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:30~6:15PM

A Very Special Note to Parents/Guardians:

We would prefer that parents stay to watch their child and even jump on the mat with them.
Parents, if you are staying to just watch please do so quietly in the reception area.
Parents presence can cause children to seek parent’s approval and not focus on the instructors or class.
However, when parents get involved, the children excel!
Parents can come in sweat pants and T-shirt and share in your child’s training experience.
It will help you understand exactly what your child is learning and have a great time!
It's okay that some parents or family just like to watch but, if you do please don’t side-line coach the children!
This can distract them which will cause a serious disruption in their training and it’s rude to others.

Please bring your children for us to train them and trust us, we will do an amazing job!
We have a very professional training staff that will exceed your every expectation!

Black Belt:

We DO NOT promote anyone under 16 years of age to black belt.
We believe that maturity, readiness, and ability earns rank, not cuteness.
We do love to see the children advance in rank but do not
believe that a child is ready for the responsibility that a Black Belt carries.
